One of my first jobs was at a full-service fine jewelry store in my small hometown of Half Moon Bay, CA. The store was owned by a wonderful husband and wife team who grew the business by performing on site bench work, while curating incredible pieces from various artists. This experience sparked my obsession with jewelry. I went on buying adventures and attended the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) to deepen my knowledge of gems and metals.
After moving to Portland, I worked at Stephen Vincent Jewelers, a boutique custom jewelery store. Here I expanded my expertise and discovered my passion for design. I created modern redesigns of antique and heirloom pieces and crafted engagement rings, wedding bands, and custom items while building lasting relationships with clients.
Seven years ago, my family and I relocated to Sioux Falls, SD, where I launched Avery Sterling Designs. In my home studio, I honed my metalworking skills and attracted clients by transforming vintage jewelry into one-of-a-kind pieces. I even opened a retail space for Avery Sterling in Spring 2024.
Combining my jewelry & merchandising background with my passion for design, I created a welcoming space to showcase my work. In Fall 2024, we moved back to the Pacific Northwest, settling in Eugene, OR. I'm excited to create an inspiring environment in South Eugene, surrounded by a vibrant artist community, and I can’t wait to see what’s next!
There are so many different aspects that I love about my work, but my main focus has always been to make jewelry accessible to everyone. having a quality piece of jewelry doesn't always have to be expensive or overwhelming. helping people find the perfect piece that fits their lifestyle and budget gives me such joy. from making new pieces for my line to taking old things and re-imaging them, everyone deserves a little sparkle.
Thank you for stopping by my page, I look forward to hearing from you soon.
